Hi, I'm Mayor Kevin Sarter and welcome to this episode of the Mayor's Minute. As a kid, I always looked forward to summertime. It was a time for having fun and building friendships. The city offers a lot of ways to do that. From open swim and swim lessons at one of our three city pools, joining summer youth camps, or getting involved in sports or special interest classes. Let's take a look at some of our summer programs. Surprise Aquatic Center, Oasis Swim Center, and Holly Hawk Pool are all open this summer for swimming. You can get details on programming at surpriseaz.gov/acquatics. Summer day camps are for kids entering 1st through 7th grade. It's a chance to take exciting field trips, visit our aquatic center, interact with special visitors, and more, ensuring a summer packed with amazing memories and experiences. Our sports division offers a robust lineup of leagues and camps for the summer. Sports camps run in June and July for ages 7 through 15. These are multi-day camps for basketball, soccer, softball, cheer, and many other things. There are also a bunch of special interest classes and camps available. Classes range from dance to karate to babysitting safety, and camps focus on Lego building, dinosaur space, and much more. Sign up for any of these summer programs and explore what else we have to offer at surpriseaz.gov/suprisk. Thanks for joining me on this episode of the Mayor's Minute. We look forward to seeing you at one of our programs.
